Monmouth School Sports Complex

Monmouth School v Colston’s School (Under 15), June 2014

On the Welsh/English border at the end of the Wye Valley sit the playing fields of Monmouth School. The rolling hills at the edge of the Forest of Dean provide a backdrop to rugby in the Winter and cricket in the Summer. The picture was taken from the balcony of the modern Monmouth School Pavillion (built in 2008) as the players change positions between overs. As is common in school cricket, a teacher from each school combines umpiring with filling in their scorebooks.
